Last season I did some work with Ride Guide TV. In early December I field produced and shot a piece at Sol Mountain Lodge in the Monashee Mountains near Revelstoke, BC.
Mark Butcher, Joel Whalen and Brother Thommy were along for trip, which was an awesome way to kick off the season.
Sol Mountain is probably the most luxurious backcountry ski touring hut you’ll find out there. The facilities are more high end Heli op than they are ski touring hut and it was a pleasure to spend a week there with owner Aaron Cooperman and his family.
In March 2009 I was up in Clearwater, BC with Richie Small and Jeremie Duchaine on another backcountry touring assignment. We were checking out one of Wells Gray Adventures ski touring chalets and had owner and backcountry Guru Ian Eakins to show us around. It was another great experience and the shooting turned out great.
Ride Guide came down to Fernie to shoot a couple of segments in late March and I was on board as a P.A. for the Fernie Alpine Resort shoot. Good times on our home mountain. Brother Thommy Jeremy Duchaine and Izzy Lynch prodived the talent on this one and Gideon Dante from Montreal was producing. I had my camera out as well and for hill riding, I think the segment turned out pretty good.
End of the year celebration held by the resort…featuring the fiddlistic talent of Ashley MacIsaac as well as the band known as Sweet Potato. With the help of a couple kokanee girls, the sasquatch, sunshine and of course beer…there was many a game and a plethora of laughter. Check it out!

The first two day of action were marred by flat light, hurricane winds and side-ways snow, but everyone killed it.
Then sun came out for the finals and inspired some big-time sends and some big-time fun.
